In this new podcast episode of Into The Void, I talk with vocalist Alex Pasibe of Washington post-hardcore heroes Osatia! We talk about their latest release "Take What You Need," their new Paramore cover release "Decode," new upcoming album release details, how the band got started, life after their 2020 EP release All In Time, favorite artists and bands, best and worst show venues, and much more in this in-depth episode of Into The Void!
It's been a few hard years of reflection, meditation, and putting things into perspective for the Washington post-hardcore heroes since they last produced a single and a record. Since then, they've gone to find unlikely success with EP All In Time while at the same time coming to know tragedy and sorrow at an unexpected time with the passing of dear friend and bandmate Cole McKenzie. On top of all the other added pressures of life, no one knew where Osatia would go or if they would continue as a band.
“I wrote "Take What You Need " about being in love and being there for someone at their lowest, even if you know you might get burned in the end. Understanding where they are in life and accepting that broken people make broken decisions. "I know that you couldn’t give more and you shouldn’t. Take what you need, Gotten used to the bitter end" After being through so much in the past there’s only so much that people are able to give to another person. Then they leave...I've been there before so I understand. At least we enjoyed the company we gave each other at the time and that makes it all worth the while." -Alex Pasibe (Vocalist)
While one would expect the ground to crumble and shift beneath the solid foundation on which the band once stood, Osatia has always used music as a shining beacon of hope to help people get through the darkest of times, and they would do it again. This time, it was not just to lift others through a difficult time, but a rebirth to recovery for the band as well. As a result, the band has come back swinging with their new single, "Take What You Need." A single bursting with their trademark raw emotional fortitude and accompanied with unashamedly positive energy, "Take What You Need" celebrates a band that is at their best.

While it's safe to say that Osatia is a band that has been through it all and then some, the post-hardcore outfit is simply just being themselves, giving back, while learning to grow and heal at the same time, and "Take What You Need" is only just the beginning of that new journey. We talk about all of this and more on the next episode of Into The Void.
