In this latest episode of Into The Void, lead guitarist from Chelsea Grin Stephen Rutishauser joins me as we talk about the band's detailed history, their new full-release 'Suffer In Hell,' and more! Step Into The Void.
When looking back on the illustrious career of Salt Lake City, Utah deathcore bands like Chelsea Grin, their path has not always been an easy one, yet through each album cycle, they have always shown their resilience and willingness to expand and experiment. Since their inception in 2007, Chelsea Grin have successfully released two EPs and five studio albums, keeping audiences engaged with their passionate drive to go the distance even when adversity stood in their way.
"Many men have proclaimed to see, understand, and sometimes claim to have a gift from the gods. This is our creation for you, each song a representation of the trials and tribulations of life, each word chosen to represent an emotion, there is no greater story than the unknown and we believe this record will paint a picture only your mind can see." - Tom Barber on Suffer In Hell
Now under a new label and a brand new album under their belts, Suffer In Hell, the deathcore luminaries are now embracing a new kind of technical and contentious side to themselves. Suffer In Hell delves into the emotional core of our inner demons vocally, instrumentally, and narratively as the record goes through a reflective and poignant exploration of discovering ourselves. Apart of a career-changing two LPs, their next installation, Suffer In Heaven, will arrive on March 17, 2023.
While the band has had quite a struggle over the years, Suffer In Hell shows a confident and structured powerhouse that has emerged from the ashes of trials and tribulation.
