EP Review- We Struck Gold: 'Feel Nothing' EP

UK rising metalcore band We Struck Gold revamps their style while still continuing to answer the question of our purpose in life and regaining control with their latest EP, 'Feel Nothing.'

Have you ever questioned what our purpose is in life? If we are in control of the lives that we lead? Or if we are floating through the plains of a perceived existence? Are our dreams our construct or the design of another entity entirely? When you think about it, these are pretty emotionally complex thoughts, but ones that We Struck Gold have based their lyrical fortitude and thought process on since 2019's To Conquer A Fear.

"Another gold-star moment that appears on this EP is "Momentum." With high-octane guitar riffs contending with the rapacious energies of drums and raw-throated vocal brilliance, it will be a track that listeners will jump back to on Feel Nothing."

The band is now on a journey to a broader understanding of those ideas, and have reinvented themselves in the process with their new EP release, Feel Nothing.

The EP starts with an immersive one-minute "Intro" that pierces into the first track, "Done." An eye-popping nostalgic blend of atmospheric post-hardcore and metalcore with cutthroat guitar energies and pummeling percussive fervor, it takes us into what we can expect with the next few tracks.

Another gold-star moment that appears on this EP is "Momentum." With high-octane guitar riffs contending with the rapacious energies of drums and raw-throated vocal brilliance, it will be a track that listeners will jump back to on Feel Nothing.

"Giving Up On Giving In" becomes another crushing experience that feels like it would be exciting to mosh to live. With chest-collapsing guitar intensity that intertwines with fierce drums, it pulls through as the second-best track on the record and pulls us into their beautifully done last moment, "Silhouette." A softer soundscape compared to most of the heavier atmospheres we have experienced up to this point, We Struck Gold shows their competence in blending heavier and more delicate elements into a song and succeeding.

We Struck Gold have created a strong EP showcasing their instrumental, vocal, and lyrical strength. Sounding more confident in showing where they want to go with their sound, This UK metalcore band holds a promising future within the world of the post-hardcore and metalcore scene.
